Just wondering how other local authorities were going to handle this?
From the 25th May organisations running websites will need the users’s permission before cookies can be used. If you take online payments, use web Analytics, or show adverts on your site, this new law will apply to you.”
The changes are demanded by the European E-Privacy directive and are due to come into play on the 25th of May, although nobody knows yet how best to implement this.

Hello Kristina, in news this week – ICO gives website owners one year to comply with cookies law
http://www.psfbuzz.org.uk/2011…..okies-law/
Guidance on how the ICO will enforce the new rules on cookies is available on the ICO website here:
http://www.ico.gov.uk/~/media/…..ons_v1.pdf
Information for consumers on what the new rules will mean for them and how to complain to us is available on the ICO website here:
http://www.ico.gov.uk/news/cur…..rules.aspx
Information on what the ICO itself is doing to comply with the new rules is available here:
http://www.ico.gov.uk/news/cur….._pecr.aspx
DCMS has also today issued a news release on the cookies rules. Go to http://www.culture.gov.uk for more information.
Will keep attempting to prompt some more input too.
Regards,
Gary

On this topic I found this earlier. Appears similar to the pop up on the ICO site.
Hmm now why doesn’t the ICO provide a similar solution to enable organisations to comply?
